As many students may know, the month of May is a very big deal here at Simonds High School. Student council is busy at work setting up a variety of different fundraisers in support of JDRF. JDRF stands for Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and is an important cause that Simonds supports each year. This year’s fundraisers include our annual events along with some new activities that are sure to be a blast.
CAR SHOW- there will be a car show held at lunch on May 28th in the student parking lot behind the school. Enter to show off your hot ride and win some prizes. $5 entry and free admission. There will also be a scavenger hunt to raise awareness about the consequences of drinking and driving. Pick up a question sheet and look on the windshields of the cars for the answers.
CHOOSE YOUR RIDE- There will be a choose your ride featuring a cop car, ambulance, hearse and a tow truck next to the car show May 28th.
BARBEQUE- Stop by at noon hour May 28th and purchase a tasty lunch. The barbeque will be held next to the car show.
MOTHER’S DAY BASKET- purchase tickets for a chance to win a mother’s day basket valued over $500. This would be the perfect gift to give your mother. The basket includes glasses, pictures, a haircut, mugs, candles, Avon products, bath and body works products and more! The draw will be held May 7th.
CHANGE DRIVE- The week of May 12 to 17th there will be a change drive. If you have any loose change in your pockets, drop it in a bucket in the office. Donations of any size are welcome.
JDRF SHOE SALE- JDRF shoes are on sale in the office all month. $1 will get you a paper shoe to put your name on and will be hung on the shoe wall
All proceeds from these activities will go towards JDRF. Come out and support the cause!
