Quebec doctor kills his own children In 2009 Dr, Guy Turcotte murdered his own two children, he was first charged with first degree murder but eventually they decided he was not responsible as he had a mental disorder. His children Oliver, 5, and Anne-Sophie, 3, were stabbed to death. After the stabbing Turcotte swallowed windshield wiper fluid in a suicide attempt. Turcotte had admitted to murdering his children and was sent to a psychiatric hospital in Montréal. After this verdict many people protested in hope he would get criminally charged.

     In December of 2012 after 18 months in a mental institution he was released, on the condition he makes no contact with his former ex-wife or her family.

     He was rearrested on November 13th 2013, Police transferred Turcotte to the Pinel Institute, where he remains detained this case may go to Supreme Court.                                                         - Brittany MacDonald.
